Bleach is a popular Japanese anime and manga series that has been around for over a decade. It tells the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a young high school student who becomes a Soul Reaper and battles against evil spirits called Hollows. One of the most memorable arcs in the series was the Thousand-Year Blood War, which pitted the Soul Society against a group of powerful Quincy warriors. In this article, we'll be focusing on one of the most epic battles in the arc: Kisuke vs Askin.
The Combatants
Kisuke Urahara is a former captain of the 12th Division and the founder of the research and development institute in the Soul Society. He is known for his cunning intellect and his mastery of technology and magic. Askin Nakk Le Vaar is a Quincy and a member of the Elite Sternritter, a group of powerful warriors chosen by the Quincy emperor Yhwach. He has the ability to manipulate lethal doses of any substance in his own body and the bodies of others.
The Battle
The battle between Kisuke and Askin takes place in Chapter 648 of the manga and Episode 245 of the anime. Kisuke and his allies have infiltrated the Wahrwelt, the Quincy's stronghold, to rescue their captured comrades. Askin confronts Kisuke and challenges him to a battle to the death.
The battle starts with Kisuke using his Bankai, Kannonbiraki Benihime Atarame, to analyze Askin's abilities and weaknesses. Askin, however, manages to survive Kisuke's first attack by manipulating the lethal dose of poison in his own body. He then reveals that he has the ability to adapt to any lethal dose that is used against him, making him virtually invincible.
Kisuke then reveals his own hidden power, the ability to invent and manipulate the "Antithesis," a power that allows him to reverse any two targets of his choosing. He uses this power to redirect Askin's lethal dose of poison back at him, causing him to suffer its effects.
Askin, however, survives once again and reveals that he has yet another power, the ability to create and control the "Deathdealing," a substance that can kill anything it touches, even immortals. Kisuke, however, manages to outsmart Askin once more by using his Bankai to create a replica of the Deathdealing, tricking Askin into using it against himself.
The Aftermath
The battle between Kisuke and Askin ends with Kisuke emerging victorious. Askin is left severely injured and is later killed by Yhwach for his failure. Kisuke and his allies continue on their mission to rescue their comrades and bring an end to the Thousand-Year Blood War.
Conclusion
The battle between Kisuke and Askin was one of the most intense and memorable moments in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. It showcased the intelligence and resourcefulness of both combatants and kept fans on the edge of their seats. It also demonstrated the high stakes of the war and the lengths that both sides were willing to go to achieve victory.
